A widely faced issue when taking Sprinters off-road is that the rear shock absorber bolts can shear at the chassis mounting due to high stresses. When this happens, extracting the broken bolt from the rail becomes more than just a nuisance—especially if you’re somewhere far from the nearest road.
The Shear Bracket Kit is specifically made to counter this problem. The main bracket distributes the load from the shock absorber to two points in the bolt, allowing the forces to be transferred to the chassis by two additional bolts. A backing plate is provided to further reinforce the system, and a lock plate is supplied to lock the bolt in place.
